Full Of Joy

Do you think you need to wait till your circumstances are just right to be full of joy?

Romans 5:3 in the Amplified says, “Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.”  I don’t know about you, but this is a challenging word from Scripture. My mind can become so wrapped around my problems that I have trouble seeing God at work in the midst of the difficulty.

When I was having a baby every two years, I didn’t think that there would ever be a time that I wasn’t changing diapers, nursing, or waking up in the middle of the night. But now, rather than having a baby cling to me, I have daughters coming home from college. It was the difficult things that helped build the bond between us.  God uses the “stuff” in our lives to produce character. So don’t wait for something to pass, enjoy the moments of your day to the full!
