From the beginning of time, God fashioned you and designed you to be one of a kind!
Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are God’s masterpiece.
He has created us anew in Christ
Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
If you are a mother, it is no accident! This is part of God’s plan for you. But you don’t have to try to be someone else.
Be yourself!
If you feel like your family doesn’t measure up to being “picture perfect”… relax, no family is perfect. Everyone of us fall short of all that God has for us to be as a family. Every parent sins, every child sins, every sibling sins. Without Jesus, every family would be in shambles. But Jesus is a redeemer. He is able to take the broken pieces of family mistakes and wounded relationships and bring healing and restoration. Our God is perfect and He makes all things new. He brings help to the helpless, and hope to the hopeless. He is the one who puts the lonely in families.
You may feel like the worst mom in the world. You may feel like you have blown your temper too many times, or are hanging on by your finger nails. Or you could feel pretty confident that you are a good mom, but you want to be the best mom you can be.
“I am the Vine, you are the branches.
When you’re joined with me and I with you,
the relation intimate and organic,
the harvest is sure to be abundant.
Separated, you can’t produce a thing”
John 15:5 The Message.
Without God you can do nothing. No matter how many self-help books you read, you can’t impart to your child all that God has for him or her without God’s help. Face it! You are dependent! You are completely desperate for God’s grace on a daily basis to help you be the best mom in the world for your child.
Is He your best friend? Do you talk to Him about everything. Do you stop and listen to hear His voice instructing you even on the intimate details of your life. Yes, He cares and He wants to help you. He wants to give you a harvest in life that is abundant.
Being a mom places you on a unique mission field! You have a first hand calling to parent your child in the ways of God. You are called, established and equipped by God to be the best mom in the world, WITH HIS HELP. Along with fathers, you are called to raise your children “in the training and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesias 6:4b). You are to teach them to fear and love God. You have the opportunity to walk in the fruit of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis, teaching them God’s word, His will, and His ways.
God is the helper that comes into your nursery and helps you to parent your child. He has given the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, instruct, and comfort you as the mom. He also gives a community of other mom’s who have struggled with some of the same things and have learned to turned to Jesus to help them keep focused on their mission as a mom. The Christian MomTalk community is being formed to grant you a safe place for you to find help.
